Comparison
GoodLeaf vs GTX Gaming vs PingPerfect vs BisectHosting
The short answer
For a small Rust server, GTX Gaming ($12.66 for 10GB / 50 slots) and PingPerfect ($14.21 for 9GB / 50 slots) are cheaper than GoodLeaf's $19.99 for 8GB, and both have far more locations. GoodLeaf's case is at higher populations: no slot limits at any size, dedicated Ryzen 9 9950X cores, and a published 32GB plan ($99.99) where GTX Gaming and PingPerfect publish none.

Pricing and specifications last checked . Competitor figures are list prices taken from each provider's own public pricing page (or the pricing data that page loads from the provider's own domain) on the date above, monthly billing, in USD. Where a provider was running a promotion, the list price is shown rather than the promo price, since promos expire. Where a provider does not publish a figure, the cell reads "Not published" — we do not infer it.
Where GoodLeaf does and does not win
GoodLeaf is not the cheapest entry point.
Our smallest Rust plan is $19.99 for 8GB. GTX Gaming starts at $12.66 for 10GB with 50 slots and PingPerfect at $14.21 for 9GB with 50 slots. For a small community server, either is cheaper.
Every competitor here has far more locations.
BisectHosting publishes 21 locations, PingPerfect 20 and GTX Gaming 18, against our 5 in the US and Amsterdam. Rust is sensitive to latency in PvP; if your players are outside North America and Western Europe, choose a host near them.
No slot limits, so price does not climb with population.
GTX Gaming and PingPerfect charge by player slots: at 16GB, GTX Gaming is $51.62 for 160 slots, and PingPerfect's 200-slot preset is $85.92. GoodLeaf plans have unlimited slots at every size; 16GB is $49.99 whether you run 50 players or 300.
GoodLeaf publishes a 32GB plan with dedicated cores.
Large modded and high-pop Rust servers need 24–32GB. GoodLeaf lists 32GB with 8 dedicated Ryzen 9 9950X cores at $99.99. BisectHosting's BisectOne 32GB is $95.99 with no published CPU or core count; GTX Gaming and PingPerfect publish no fixed 32GB plan.
GTX Gaming names fast CPUs too.
GTX Gaming names the Intel Core i9-13900K and AMD Ryzen 9 7950X/9950X and describes "dedicated" cores without stating how many. PingPerfect names only "AMD Ryzen & EPYC", and BisectHosting no CPU. Rust's server simulation leans heavily on one main thread, so per-core speed matters more than core count.
GoodLeaf runs its own network.
We announce our own prefixes from AS216030, registered on PeeringDB as net/35360, both independently verifiable. None of the other three publish an ASN.
How we compiled this
- Only figures each provider publishes themselves are included. Nothing is inferred, estimated, or taken from a third-party review.
- GoodLeaf's own column is generated from the same configuration file that drives our pricing page, so it cannot drift out of sync with what we actually charge.
- Rust hosts price differently: GTX Gaming and PingPerfect sell by player slots with a stated RAM amount, while GoodLeaf and BisectHosting price by RAM. Where a provider has no plan at a tier's exact RAM, we show its closest published preset and label it "closest tier". We do not add up custom-builder options into a price the provider does not itself publish.
- BisectHosting's Rust page only lists plans up to 12GB. Its 16GB and 32GB figures are for the same BisectOne plan as published on its Minecraft page, and are labelled as such.
- We do not compare uptime, support quality, or reliability. We have no way to verify another provider's figures for those, and neither does anyone else.
- We have no commercial relationship with any of these providers. Survival Servers, Nitrado and Shockbyte were considered but their pricing could not be retrieved for verification, so they are not included rather than quoted from memory.

Questions
- Which Rust host is cheapest?
- For small servers, GTX Gaming ($12.66/month for 10GB and 50 slots) and PingPerfect ($14.21 for 9GB and 50 slots) are cheapest of the four. GoodLeaf starts at $19.99 for 8GB with unlimited slots and BisectHosting at $23.99 for 8GB. At 16GB, BisectHosting ($47.99) and GoodLeaf ($49.99) are cheapest.
- Why do some Rust hosts charge per slot?
- Slot pricing ties the price to your maximum player count. It is simple for small servers but gets expensive as you grow: at 16GB GTX Gaming charges $51.62 for 160 slots and PingPerfect $85.92 for 200. RAM-priced hosts like GoodLeaf and BisectHosting do not limit slots, so you pay for the hardware, not the headcount.
- How much RAM does a Rust server need?
- A vanilla Rust server on a standard-size map typically needs 8–12GB. Large maps, high populations and heavy Oxide/uMod or Carbon plugin stacks commonly need 16GB, and big modded servers 24–32GB. Memory use grows over a wipe, so leave headroom.
- Which Rust host has the most locations?
- BisectHosting publishes 21 locations, PingPerfect 20 and GTX Gaming 18. GoodLeaf has 5 (New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Amsterdam).
- How current are these prices?
- All competitor figures were taken from each provider's own public pricing page on 2026-10-06, using list prices rather than promotional prices. Hosting prices change often. If you find a figure here that is out of date, email [email protected] and we will correct it.
