Comparison

GoodLeaf vs ServerPrism vs CloudNord vs SurgeNode

The short answer

If you want the lowest monthly price for a given RAM figure, ServerPrism or CloudNord will beat us — they sell managed game panels starting around $13–$15/month for 4GB. If you want root access with dedicated CPU cores on a named, current-generation processor, behind DDoS filtering built specifically for FiveM server queries, on a network the host actually owns, GoodLeaf starts at $27.00/mo for 4GB with 2 dedicated Ryzen 9 9950X cores. Both are defensible choices; they are not the same product.

Pricing and specifications last checked . Competitor figures are list prices taken from each provider's own public pricing page on the date above. Where a provider was running a promotional discount, the list price is shown rather than the promo price, since promos expire. Where a provider does not publish a figure, the cell reads "Not published" — we do not infer it.

Where GoodLeaf does and does not win

GoodLeaf disadvantage

GoodLeaf is not the cheapest option at any tier.

At 4GB we charge $27.00 against ServerPrism's $13.16 and CloudNord's $14.69. At 8GB it is $59.99 against $26.32 and $26.69. If your only criterion is the lowest monthly price for a given RAM figure, one of the managed panels will win and we would rather you knew that from us.

Context

Two of these are a different product class.

ServerPrism and CloudNord sell managed game panels: convenient, cheaper, and you do not get root on the machine. GoodLeaf and SurgeNode sell VPS/VDS instances where you do. A panel plan and a root-access instance at the same RAM figure are not the same purchase, and comparing their prices directly is misleading in both directions.

GoodLeaf advantage

Among root-access options, GoodLeaf gives dedicated cores at a comparable price.

At 16GB, GoodLeaf is $89.99 for 6 dedicated cores against SurgeNode's $89.00 for 6 shared vCPU — effectively the same price, with the difference being whether the cores are contended. At 8GB, SurgeNode is cheaper ($44.00 vs $59.99).

GoodLeaf advantage

GoodLeaf names the exact CPU, and it is the current generation.

We publish AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. ServerPrism publishes "AMD Ryzen or equivalent" and CloudNord "AMD Ryzen 7 7700 or equivalent" — the "or equivalent" means you cannot know what you are getting. SurgeNode names the Ryzen 9 5950X/7950X, which are the two previous generations. This matters for FiveM specifically because its server loop is single-threaded, so per-core clock speed is the dominant performance factor.

GoodLeaf advantage

GoodLeaf runs its own network.

We announce our own prefixes from AS216030, registered on PeeringDB as net/35360, both independently verifiable. None of the other three publish an ASN. This is checkable rather than a claim you have to take on trust.

Context

DDoS protection is included everywhere; the difference is what kind.

All four include mitigation at no extra cost. Ours runs through Path.net with more than 17 Tbps of capacity and Layer 7 filters specific to FiveM server queries and GTA V multiplayer traffic. Cloudflare and CloudShield are general-purpose edge filtering. Protocol-aware filtering matters for FiveM because attacks that imitate legitimate server queries pass through volumetric-only scrubbing.

GoodLeaf disadvantage

CloudNord has far more locations.

CloudNord publishes 18 regions across four continents against our 5. If your players are concentrated somewhere we do not have a facility — South America or Asia-Pacific in particular — latency will beat any hardware advantage we have.

How we compiled this

  • Only figures each provider publishes themselves are included. Nothing is inferred, estimated, or taken from a third-party review.
  • GoodLeaf's own column is generated from the same configuration file that drives our pricing pages, so it cannot drift out of sync with what we actually charge.
  • Plans are matched by advertised RAM, which is the only specification all four providers publish consistently. RAM is a poor proxy for FiveM performance (see the note on dedicated cores below), but matching on it avoids us choosing the comparison that flatters us.
  • We do not compare uptime, support quality, or reliability. We have no way to verify another provider's figures for those, and neither does anyone else.

Questions

Which FiveM host is cheapest?
Of the four compared here, ServerPrism is cheapest at the 4GB tier ($13.16/month list) and CloudNord is close behind ($14.69/month list). GoodLeaf is $27.00/month at 4GB and is not the cheapest at any tier. The gap is largely product class: ServerPrism and CloudNord sell managed game panels, while GoodLeaf and SurgeNode sell root-access instances with dedicated or shared CPU allocations respectively.
Does dedicated CPU matter for a FiveM server?
Yes, more than RAM does. FiveM runs its main server loop on a single thread, so per-core clock speed under contention is the dominant performance factor. A plan advertising 8 shared vCores can hitch under load while a plan with 2 dedicated cores at a high clock runs smoothly. When comparing hosts, check whether cores are dedicated or shared before comparing RAM figures or prices.
Which of these hosts names its exact CPU?
GoodLeaf publishes the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. SurgeNode names the Ryzen 9 5950X and 7950X. ServerPrism publishes "AMD Ryzen or equivalent" and CloudNord "AMD Ryzen 7 7700 or equivalent" — in both cases the "or equivalent" means the specific silicon is not guaranteed. For a workload as sensitive to single-core clock as FiveM, an unnamed CPU is a meaningful unknown.
Which FiveM host has the most locations?
CloudNord, which publishes 18 regions across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and South America. GoodLeaf has 5 (New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Amsterdam) and SurgeNode has 2 (New York and Ashburn). If your player base is concentrated in a region a host does not serve, latency will outweigh any hardware advantage.
How current are these prices?
All competitor figures were taken from each provider's own public pricing page on 2026-10-05, using list prices rather than promotional prices. Hosting prices change often. If you find a figure here that is out of date, email [email protected] and we will correct it.
