FiveM Client UI Update: New Limits, Reporting, and Design Changes

In February 2026, the FiveM client received a notable UI overhaul that affects how servers are displayed, discovered, and reported. The update focuses on visual consistency, tighter character limits, and new community moderation tools. If you run a FiveM server, these changes directly impact how your listing appears to players.

What Changed in the FiveM Client UI

The most visible change is a streamlined interface with consistent styling applied throughout the server browser. Cfx.re removed server title colors entirely, opting for a uniform text appearance across all listings. While some server owners used colored titles to stand out, the decision was made to improve readability and accessibility for all users.

The overall layout feels cleaner and more modern. Buttons, cards, and typography now follow a single design language, reducing the visual clutter that had built up over previous iterations of the client.

Info

If your server name previously relied on color codes to attract attention, those codes will no longer render. Consider updating your listing to use clear, descriptive text instead.

New Character Limits for Server Listings

Alongside the visual refresh, Cfx.re adjusted several character limits for server listings. Some were reduced to keep the browser tidy, while the description field was expanded to give owners more room to describe their server.

  • Project names: Reduced from 50 to 40 characters. Shorter names help maintain a consistent look in search results.
  • Server hostnames: Now capped at 120 characters, down from previously unlimited. This prevents excessively long titles that disrupted the layout.
  • Server descriptions: Expanded from 125 to 250 characters. Server owners now have double the space to explain what makes their server unique.

The expanded description limit is a welcome change. Previously, 125 characters was barely enough to convey a server's theme, rules, or standout features. With 250 characters, owners can provide a much better first impression to browsing players.

The New Report Button

A Report button now appears on individual server pages within the FiveM client. This allows players to flag servers directly for issues such as misleading descriptions, rule violations, or fraudulent activity. The feature is part of a broader push toward community-driven moderation.

Community feedback has been vocal about problems with the upvote system being abused by bot accounts and fraudulent boosting services. While the report button does not address upvote manipulation directly, it does give legitimate players a tool to surface bad actors. Cfx.re has indicated that more updates targeting fraud prevention are planned throughout 2026.

Warning

Abusing the report system to target competing servers may result in action against your own account. Use the feature responsibly and only for genuine violations.

What Server Owners Should Do Now

With these changes live, server owners should take a few minutes to review and update their listings:

  • Check your project name length. If it exceeds 40 characters, it will be truncated. Rewrite it to fit cleanly within the new limit.
  • Review your server hostname. Ensure it is under 120 characters and remove any legacy color codes that no longer render.
  • Take advantage of the expanded description. You now have 250 characters to work with. Use the extra space to highlight your server's game mode, community size, or unique features.
  • Monitor your server's report status. Stay on top of any reports filed against your server and ensure your listing accurately represents the player experience.

Cfx.re has confirmed that additional UI refinements and anti-fraud measures are in the pipeline for the rest of 2026. Keeping your server listing clean and compliant now will help you avoid disruptions as further changes roll out.

Will colored server names come back in a future update?+

There has been no indication from Cfx.re that colored server titles will return. The removal was an intentional design and accessibility decision, so server owners should plan around plain-text names going forward.

Does the report button replace the existing Cfx.re support process?+

No. The in-client report button is a supplementary tool for quick community flagging. For complex issues such as DMCA claims or account disputes, you should still use the official Cfx.re support channels.

What happens if my server hostname exceeds 120 characters?+

Hostnames that exceed the new 120-character cap will be automatically truncated in the server browser. It is best to manually shorten your hostname to ensure it reads clearly and includes the most important information.
